It feels like an eternity since I have been unsuccessfully trying to start a journal or a blog, musing over all kinds of platforms, making accounts and then deleting them, going through uncountable brain farts that I believe could be something I'd love to discuss with internet strangers, and then forgetting all about it.
Anon blog to start out
The fact that you can open yourself to people without exposing your identity is an awesome yet (seemingly) underappreciated facet of the internet. For all my social deficiencies, I intend to use it well however.
Settling on Bear
Like I said, I have been experimenting and abandoning a lot of blogging platforms, but I need to clarify it's for no fault of those platforms alone. I just wanted something minimal and no-fuss, not realizing those two can go against each other too. Very recently I deleted my neocities account after having unsuccessfully tried to make a minimal blog on there with plain HTML. While it wasn't that undoable, it still needed 1-2 additional steps to publish things (from markdown) and those were 1-2 too many. I'm settling finally on Bear, for 1. the guy running this platform seems to have his priorities sorted out perfectly, and 2. writing and posting things in here is literally as easy as type and hit Publish. Also, 3. (honorary) it's simple and minimal enough to perfectly suit my tastes.
Thank myself to seek out this experiment. ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
